The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dissolved the party’s Kaduna State Caretaker Committee and constituted a new seven-member team to manage its affairs.

The party announced the decision in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan.

According to the PDP, the action was taken pursuant to Sections 29(2)(b) and 31(2)(e) of the party’s 2017 constitution, as amended.

The newly constituted caretaker committee is headed by Bashir Tanimu Dutsenma as chairman.

Other members are Abdullahi Dole Kaina, Bashir Maru, Timothy Golu, Babangida Roni, Mohammed Alhaji Sule and Ali Abdullahi, who will serve as secretary.

The party said the committee would be responsible for running the affairs of the PDP in Kaduna State until a new State Executive Committee is elected.

Its tenure is not expected to exceed 30 days.

The NWC also urged PDP leaders and members in Kaduna State to work together and maintain unity during the transition period.

The party said greater cooperation among members would be necessary as it sought to strengthen its position and challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state.
