Atiku Reaffirms Commitment to Restructuring Nigeria

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has reiterated his commitment to restructuring Nigeria, saying the issue remains one of his major priorities.

Atiku made the statement on Tuesday during his presidential campaign in Osogbo, Osun State.

He promised that, if elected, his administration would begin the restructuring process within its first six months in office.

“You know I have always stood for restructuring, and I promise that I will begin the process within six months if elected. I mean it,” Atiku said.

The PDP presidential candidate also pledged to promote greater participation of youths and women in his government, promising that 40 per cent of appointments would go to young people while 30 per cent would be reserved for women.

Atiku urged residents of Osun State to vote for him and other PDP candidates in the forthcoming elections and encouraged supporters to safeguard their votes.

He said voting for the PDP would help create jobs, improve security and strengthen the Nigerian economy.

Also speaking at the campaign, Atiku’s wife, Titi Abubakar, urged Nigerians to support her husband, saying his election would help address unemployment, poverty and economic hardship.

She said an Atiku-led administration would focus on creating employment opportunities and empowering women across the country.

PDP National Chairman Uche Secondus also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to remain neutral and ensure a free and fair election.

Secondus urged the police leadership to treat all political parties and Nigerians fairly during the electoral process, while appealing to voters to support Atiku and other PDP candidates.

Osun State PDP Chairman Soji Adagunodo expressed confidence that the party would receive strong support in the state, predicting that Atiku and other PDP candidates would secure a significant majority of the votes.

Also speaking, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Chairman of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) Steering Committee, expressed confidence that Atiku would fulfil his campaign promises if elected.
