Manchester United Player Claims Solskjaer Is ‘Insecure’ and Training Is ‘So Basic’
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly facing an important period at Old Trafford amid suggestions that some players have concerns about his methods.
Reports claimed that the Norwegian was approaching a potentially decisive month, with former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino among those linked with the United job if results failed to improve.
According to The Independent, one unnamed player was said to have criticised United’s training sessions as “so basic” and lacking creativity, while also suggesting that Solskjaer appeared insecure.
Another source, however, claimed that most members of the squad continued to like Solskjaer and regarded him as a strong man-manager.
“The vast majority like Ole, and he is seen as a good man-manager. But do they all respect him as a manager? I’m not sure,” the source was quoted as saying.
The source suggested that Solskjaer needed a run of victories to strengthen his position and restore confidence among some members of the squad.
Despite the speculation, reports indicated that the United manager was not facing immediate dismissal and that his future was not dependent on the outcome of a single match.
However, a demanding sequence of fixtures was expected to place greater scrutiny on his position.
United were due to face Newcastle before matches against Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, RB Leipzig, Arsenal, Istanbul Basaksehir and Everton.
