Ogun Governor Offers Automatic Employment to Crescent University’s Best Graduating Student
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has offered automatic employment to the overall best graduating student of the institution, Ibironke, following the completion of the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.
Abiodun, who was represented by his deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, announced the offer during the institution’s graduation ceremony.
The governor said his administration remained committed to restoring the state’s education sector and positioning it among the best in the country.
According to him, Ogun State has a strong reputation as an educational centre because of the large number of tertiary institutions located within the state, making it necessary for the government to provide the facilities and policies required to strengthen the sector.
“We are committed to education and for people who have been following our progress in the last four and a half weeks, you will see that our efforts in the educational sector are really bringing the state back to its rightful position,” Abiodun said.
He noted that some institutions previously affected by various challenges had resumed academic activities, adding that students were already benefiting from efforts to stabilise the education system.
Ibironke, a student of the Department of Chemical Sciences, emerged as the overall best graduating student of the institution.
Founder and Proprietor of the university, Bola Ajibola, expressed gratitude to God for what he described as another landmark achievement in the history of the institution.
Ajibola also congratulated the graduating students and their parents for the sacrifices and support that enabled them to complete their studies.
The institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibraheem Gbajabiamila, advised the graduates to regard their degrees as tools that would help them navigate future challenges.
He urged them to make the university proud through hard work, innovation, commitment and ethical conduct in their careers and leadership responsibilities.
Gbajabiamila also encouraged the graduates to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies in ways that would contribute positively to society.
