Chelsea-owned winger Victor Moses and Watford striker Stefano Okaka have been listed among the Premier League’s top 10 most overpaid players based on wages earned per minute played during the 2018-19 season.

The ranking was calculated by comparing each player’s salary with the amount of time spent on the pitch before moving away on loan.

Moses reportedly earned about £66,346 for every minute of Premier League action before joining Turkish side Fenerbahce on loan.

The former Nigeria international played only 26 league minutes for Chelsea during the period, featuring against Huddersfield Town and Liverpool.

With a reported weekly wage of around £75,000, Moses was ranked seventh on the list.

Okaka was placed 10th after playing just 22 minutes for Watford before moving to Udinese on loan.

The striker was reportedly earning about £35,000 per week, which worked out at approximately £33,409 for every minute he played.

Crystal Palace players Pape Souare and Scott Dann, Tottenham Hotspur winger Georges-Kevin N’koudou, and Chelsea defenders Gary Cahill and Davide Zappacosta were listed among the five highest earners per minute of Premier League action.

The figures reflected the limited playing opportunities some highly paid players received during the season rather than suggesting they were literally paid on a per-minute basis.
