Solskjaer Set for Huge Bonus if Manchester United Qualify for Champions League

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly in line to receive a £1 million bonus if he guides the club to Champions League qualification.

Solskjaer took charge at Old Trafford in December 2018 following the departure of Jose Mourinho, initially on an interim basis before being appointed permanent manager in March 2019.

The Norwegian has experienced an inconsistent period in charge but has also overseen signs of improvement as United attempt to return to the top level of English and European football.

Qualification for the Champions League remains one of the club’s major objectives, with a top-four Premier League finish offering a route back into Europe’s elite competition.

According to reports, United included a significant financial incentive in Solskjaer’s deal, with the 47-year-old set to earn around £1 million if he secures a top-four finish.

United were three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea as the race for Champions League qualification intensified.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United were also among the clubs competing for the European places, leaving Solskjaer’s side facing a difficult battle during the closing stages of the season.
