Fabinho’s House Burgled During Liverpool’s Premier League Title Celebrations
Liverpool midfielder Fabinho’s home was burgled while he was at Anfield celebrating the club’s Premier League title triumph.
The Brazilian and his family discovered the break-in after returning home following Liverpool’s trophy presentation.
According to police, jewellery and an Audi RS6 were stolen from the property. The vehicle was later recovered in the Wigan area.
Merseyside Police said the burglary was believed to have taken place between Wednesday afternoon and early Thursday morning.
Crime scene investigators examined the property, while officers also reviewed CCTV footage from the surrounding area as part of their investigation.
Police appealed to members of the public for information and asked motorists who may have captured footage of the stolen grey Audi on dash cameras to come forward.
Fabinho became the latest Liverpool player to be targeted by burglars while away from home for football-related activities.
Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was also the victim of a burglary in 2007 while playing in a Champions League match.
Sadio Mane, Dejan Lovren and Roberto Firmino were among other Liverpool players whose homes had previously been targeted.
Several former Reds stars, including Pepe Reina, Dirk Kuyt, Jerzy Dudek, Daniel Agger, Peter Crouch and Robbie Keane, had also experienced similar incidents during their time on Merseyside.
