Manchester United Fans Call for Wilfred Ndidi Move to Old Trafford
Manchester United supporters have identified Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as their preferred option to replace Ander Herrera.
In a Manchester Evening News poll involving 6,315 United fans, Ndidi received the highest number of votes among the midfielders suggested as possible summer signings.
United were expected to strengthen their midfield following Herrera’s decision to leave the club at the end of the season.
The club had already lost Marouane Fellaini, who moved to Chinese side Shandong Luneng Taishan in January, while uncertainty also surrounded the future of Paul Pogba.
Ndidi, who enjoyed an impressive season with Leicester City, received 35 per cent of the votes.
Monaco-owned midfielder Youri Tielemans was second with 26 per cent, while West Ham United’s Declan Rice received 21 per cent.
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot received 18 per cent, the lowest share among the four options.
The result reflected the growing reputation of Ndidi in the Premier League following his consistent performances in Leicester’s midfield.
