Kane Injury Gives Pochettino Striking Headache at Tottenham
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is facing a major attacking problem after losing Harry Kane to injury while Son Heung-min is away on international duty.
Kane is expected to be sidelined until March, leaving Spurs without their leading striker during a crucial period of the season.
Son is also unavailable because of his participation in the Asian Cup, further reducing Pochettino’s options in attack.
Fernando Llorente is expected to be given more responsibility and could start against Fulham, while Lucas Moura is another possible option despite recently recovering from a thigh injury.
Tottenham will hope to take advantage of a Fulham defence that has struggled badly in the Premier League this season.
However, with Spurs still competing on several fronts, including domestic and European competitions, the shortage of attacking options could become a serious concern.
The situation may also increase pressure on Tottenham to strengthen their squad during the transfer window by bringing in cover for Kane.
Pochettino will be hoping his remaining forwards can cope with the demanding schedule until Kane and Son are available again.
